Aim of inspection

The purpose of the inspection was to check that NNB Generation Company (HPC) Ltd are managing their suppliers who have a design, manufacture, install and commission (DMIC) contract.

Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made

The inspection focused on NNB’s resources and arrangements to manage and oversee DMIC contractors carrying out commissioning activities of systems containing their equipment. It included interviews with staff from three suppliers with DMIC contracts, and covered how those suppliers and NNB ensure staff are competent and how they integrate their activities with others on the HPC site.

Conclusion

The inspection found that NNB had acted on lessons learned from their management of earlier DMIC contracts, and enacted improvements to their arrangements which were in place and working.

The evidence showed that through these arrangements, NNB was managing and overseeing its DMIC contractors and securing the competence of their staff and the integration of their activities on site.

The evidence supported a green rating with some opportunities for minor improvements.
