It has been 10 years since the last major update to the joint guidance issued by the Office for Nuclear Regulation, Environment Agency, Scottish Environment Protection Agency and Natural Resources Wales on the management of higher activity radioactive waste on nuclear licensed sites.
During the last decade, radioactive waste management practices have evolved significantly, alongside updates to relevant legislation and government policy.
