Aim of inspection
The aim of this inspection is to examine the ongoing effectiveness of DNB’s implementation of its LC07 compliance processes. This was a 1 day inspection and was rated against LC7.

LC07 requires that the licensee shall “make and implement adequate arrangements for the notification, recording, investigation and reporting of such incidents occurring on the site…”
The aim of this inspection was to examine the ongoing effectiveness of DNB’s implementation of its LC07 processes. This was a 1 day rated inspection.
The inspection concluded that:
- Reporting and coding of events is being performed in accordance with EDF’s arrangements.
- Investigations are generally undertaken to a good standard.
- Whilst investigations are generally done to a good standard ONR observed a number of instances where corrective actions from EDF's investigations could be improved to ensure that they fully addressed the identified causes of the associated event.
- Dungeness B has significantly improved its trending of events which facilitates organisational learning insights in supporting station performance.
Conclusion
I judge that an inspection rating of Green (no formal action) is appropriate for LC7 because overall DNB was able to demonstrate it is appropriately implementing its LC7 arrangements. I did however note an area for improvement in relation to ensuring that when completing investigations, the corrective/improvement actions fully address the identified causes of the associated events. I have agreed with the Dungeness B site internal regulator that they will take this forward as part of their ongoing improvement area they have raised with DNB in relation to the effectiveness of the corrective action review board CARB) who review/challenge completed investigations.
